The Skylounge Vienna Airport is a luxurious lounge located in Vienna International Airport. It provides travellers with a cozy and exclusive space to relax and rejuvenate before their flights. Some airlines like Emirates, Qatar, and Korean Air offer access to their First and Business class passengers. Additionally, certain European credit cards or Amex cards may grant complimentary or discounted entry. For general passengers, entry is available for a fee, and trust me, it’s worth it!

You know me, I’m always on the lookout for an airport lounge. It’s that haven where drinks and food are “on tap” (pun intended), and where I can escape the crowds for some peace and quiet. It’s the perfect spot to recharge myself and my technology while waiting for my flight.

The Skylounge is located in Terminal 3 the Schengen area and is recommended for those departing from gates F or G, however there is a shuttle for those departing from C to D gates. The entry is clearly signed (unlike some airports where it is a maze to find the lounges – I’m looking at you Istanbul Airport!) and the staff are super friendly upon my arrival.

While the Skylounge Vienna Airport doesn’t offer views of aircraft due to its enclosed space, it’s still quite spacious, accommodating approximately 150 people. Upon my arrival, the lounge was bustling, and I had difficulty finding a seat.

It emptied quite quickly, and I was fortunate to secure a spot where I could charge my phone, laptop, and portable charger. In today’s world, finding a charging station for our technology is always a scramble! I was initially concerned when I headed to the coffee stand at the back, wondering if I had paid €44 just for a quiet space with only tea and coffee available.

Fear not, I stumbled upon the food and drink stations in another adjacent room and was pleasantly surprised. There was a fully stocked bar offering various spirits, red, white, and sparkling wines, as well as post-mix soft drinks and juices.

I was thoroughly impressed by the food selection in the lounge. They had a variety of delicious options, including hot dishes like roast beef and German style dumplings, as well as soups, salads, and sandwiches. Additionally, they offered fresh fruit and a variety of bread rolls. There truly was something to satisfy every taste bud.

For my first round, I opted for a ginger coconut soup with lemon and basil. I sprinkled a pinch of fried shallot on top, which added a great crunch. The soup was delicious and incredibly satisfying.

The highlight of the food offerings was definitely the roast beef and dumplings. The beef, known as Rindsbraten in German, is actually a style of pot roast rather than traditional roast beef. It was incredibly tender, gelatinous, and soft, melting in the mouth with each bite. As for the dumpling, or Knödel in German, it was divine! We just don’t make them as well in Australia!

In fact, the Knödel was so good that I went back for a second helping, this time with a tomato-based sauce. And why not add a little more of that delicious Rindsbraten for good measure?
I found the Skylounge at Vienna Airport to be exceptional value. I indulged in some wine and even enjoyed a sneaky scotch or two, I was completely relaxed before my onward flight. The food was plentiful and representative of the region. I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again when I’m next in Vienna.

That is a really solid offering for the price! Some lounges are way too basic for the money that you pay but this looks worth it. I visited an amazing lounge last month and can’t wait to share that with you!
that sounds like an absolute bargain. How splendid!
cheers
