Dining at the Harmony Specialty Restaurant on the Majestic Princess.

While on the beautiful Majestic Princess, I, with my group of friends, decided to dine at one of the specialty restaurant called Harmony. We actually also dined at the Crown Grill, but I have reviewed that before, you can read that here. With an additional cover charge of AU$63 to dine at Harmony, I believe it was well worth the cost. The exceptional dining experience, highlighted by innovative Chinese cuisine and impeccable service, justified the price for me.

The Majestic Princess, originally built for the Chinese market prior to COVID-19, still reflects elements of Chinese influence onboard today. While some aspects may have been adapted to cater to a more diverse passenger demographic, there are still evident traces of Chinese culture throughout the ship. This includes architectural elements, decor, and culinary offerings. Harmony, a Chinese culinary journey dining experience, offers an innovative menu of contemporary Chinese cuisine. With a masterful balance of ingredients and flavours, guests can indulge in a sophisticated dining experience that showcases the best of Chinese culinary artistry.

Peking duck salad, lettuce, almonds, orange truffle oil.

For the first course, I choose the Peking duck salad, featuring lettuce, almonds, and orange truffle oil. The duck is incredibly tender and carries a hint of smoked flavour. Initially unsure about the wonton crisps, I find they complement the dish perfectly, bringing everything together harmoniously. By the way, I really wanted to take this bowl with me…

Pork won ton soup.

I’ve been craving won tons for weeks, so seeing them on the menu was a delight. While the wontons themselves are perfect, I find the soup a bit heavy on sesame oil, overpowering the depth of flavour of the soup. Nevertheless, it’s still quite delicious and satisfies my won ton craving.

Diced salty fish fried rice.

I anticipated a saltier flavour with the diced salty fish fried rice, considering the dish’s name implies salted fish. While the fried rice is decent, it lacks the distinctive taste I was hoping for. Overall, it’s fine, but nothing particularly noteworthy or special about it.

Wok-fried lobster, bamboo shoots, dried scallop chilli sauce. (Additional AU$18).

The wok-fried lobster with bamboo shoots and dried scallop chilli sauce was absolutely outstanding. Each of the three lobster tails was cooked to perfection, and the sauce had a delightful seafood flavour with just the right amount of heat. I was in awe of this dish—it was definitely worth the additional cost.

If you’re planning a trip aboard the Majestic Princess, I highly recommend dining at the specialty restaurant Harmony. It offers a wonderful culinary experience that you won’t want to miss. I’ll be sharing more about my fabulous time on the ship in future posts, but for now, don’t pass up the opportunity to indulge in a memorable meal at Harmony during your cruise.
